Our Meijer grocery store had their top sirloin steak and mushrooms on sale this week so I thought I’d make Beef Stroganoff…in the crock pot. Hmm, it turned out so good!
CROCK POT BEEF STROGANOFF
1 lb. Top round steak or top sirloin steak that’s 1 inch thick
Medium onion, chopped
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
1 bay leaf
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms (any variety, I used mini portabellas)
1 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon worchestershire sauce
1 cup sour cream (regular or low-fat)
Cut steak across the grain diagonally into 1/4 inch slices and place it in the crock pot along with the onion, salt, pepper, dill weed, bay leaf, mushrooms and garlic.
Mix together beef broth, flour and worchestershire sauce thoroughly with a whisk and pour into crock pot. Stir the ingredients well, cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 7 – 8 hours or until meat is tender.
Turn crock pot off, remove lid and let set for 5 – 8 minutes. REMOVE BAY LEAF.
Stir in sour cream until completely mixed.
Serve over extra wide noodles.
