This year each of the grandchildren chose their own costumes.
Kylan wanted to be an Astronaut. His mom found a racing helmet and spray painted it silver and added blue and red tape stripes and foam letters. She also made the backpack from 2 liter pop bottles, cardboard, cups and felt flames. I sewed his jumpsuit and shoe covers and made his rocket trick or treat bag from 2 milk jugs and paper mached it.
Caden wanted to be a Green Power Ranger. His mom purchased the outfit. She made his mask from cardboard and black screen and then paper mached and painted it. She did a great job! For his trick or treat bag, his mom spray painted a plastic bucket green and then hot glued on the mask that came with the costume. I only had to make the black and red phone holder for his belt. This was a must along with adding his toy sword. LOL!
Kinzley wanted to be a Pink Princess…she’s at that stage where everything has to be pink! Her mom found the dress for just a couple of dollars! She found the foam crown and hot glued it to a headband. I made the cape and added the waist addition and front pink section to the dress. I also made her Princess trick or treat bag…
Here’s a close up. I glued a foam crown on the inside of a pink bucket she had, sewed, gathered and hot glued on the satin “skirt” and then glued on the rhinestones to the crown and the strip around the bucket.
Here’s the Mitchell family all dressed up to go trick or treating at their campsite.
