Goodbye Craftsy…Hello ETSY!

2 Jan

Since Craftsy cut most of my sewing patterns at the end of December, I decided to open an Etsy Shop. It saddens me that I have to start all over, but that’s how it is. I’m grateful for the 3 years I had with Craftsy.

I will be gradually adding the sewing patterns that were cut, so please bookmark my Etsy Shop and check back. HAPPY SEWING!!

Visor Caddy For Lou

10 Jul

DIY Visor Caddy

As a little something extra for Father’s Day, I made my husband this Visor Caddy for his work van.  It holds a 4″ X 6″ notepad, pen/pencil, a travel size pack of tissues, two business card holders (one for his card to give out and one for the cards he receives), and a zipper pocket for receipts or…whatever.

Attached to visor

The visor measures 16″ X 7″ and attaches to the visor with elastic sewn on the backside.  Here’s the DIY Visor Caddy Pattern you can download.  Since this was for a cargo van, I suggest you compare it with your visor so you can make whatever changes might be needed.

Travel and Toiletry Bag Pattern

I finally finished writing the sewing pattern for these Travel and Toiletry Bags that have been sitting in my sewing area for weeks!  I promised my daughter she could have them (she gave me the idea) and the other day she saw them and said, “I can’t wait to get my bags”…OK, Katie, I got the hint.  They’re all yours:)

My Dog Leash and Treat Bag with Poop Bag Dispenser

For all you dog lovers, here’s my latest Sewing Pattern.

I had been working on designing a dog treat bag pattern that hooked onto a leash.  I thought it was a good idea, but then I got a BETTER idea, which was to incorporate the Poop Bags into the design.

I also decided to include how to make a dog leash and came up with this Dog Leash and Treat Bag with Poop Bag Dispenser Pattern

The Dog Leash is super easy to make and fun to coordinate with the Treat Bag fabric.

The Treat Bag is, well, kinda neat and very practical!  It’s easy to make and easy to use.   Just place a Poop Bag roll into the bag lining and push the end through the bottom opening.  Close the lining and fill the top with dog treats…or people treats…or personal items such as keys, ID and some money.  Then simply attach it onto the dog leash with the swivel hook.

You can purchase this pattern for $4.50 by emailing me…Craftsy has decided to remove all but 4 of my patterns plus hundreds of other designers patterns!

Thank you and Happy Sewing!

Camping Shower Totes and Toiletry Lanyards

Shower tote and toiletry lanyard with text

My latest sewing project and Sewing Pattern, was making shower totes and shower lanyards for my daughter and her family for when they go camping.  For the totes, she wanted it large enough to hold a bath towel, flip flops and a change of clothes.  For the lanyard, she found this idea from thepopupprincess.

We both loved the idea, but wanted to be able to add more items like a razor, tooth paste and tooth brush, so I designed these clip on mesh bags.  Here’s how they look hanging from the campsite shower.

Katie, the three grandkids and I went fabric shopping and here’s how everyone’s tote bag and lanyard turned out…the kids picked out their own fabric (in their favorite color) and couldn’t wait for me to make them.

Cadens Ninja Turtle Tote and Lanyard

Here’s Caden’s Ninja Turtle Shower Tote bag and lanyard. We found the clip on bottles at Joanns for $1.00 which had hand gel in them that she replaced with her own shampoo, bath gel and cream rinse.  I have to say I liked Caden’s the best…love the vibrant green!

Kinzleys Pink Princess Tote and Lanyard

Here’s Kinzley’s Pink Princess…had to be pink…Shower Tote bag and lanyard.

Katies Purple Tote and Lanyard

This is Katie’s purple Shower Tote bag and lanyard.

Daves Blue Tote and Lanyard

Lastly, here’s Dave’s Shower Tote bag and lanyard.

Totes Hanging in camper

Here they all are neatly hanging in their pop up camper, ready to go!  The lanyards are kept in the inside zipper pocket.

Family Off To The Showers

Here’s the Mitchell family at Cedar Point KOA campsite heading for the showers with their new tote bags and shower lanyards.   Katie said they worked out great, having everyone’s shower stuff in one place.

I have to say I really enjoyed sewing these!  They were really easy and each one turned out so nice.  Katie (and the kids) did a great job picking out the fabrics.

You can purchase this Sewing Pattern at my Etsy Shop!

Thank you and Happy Sewing!

FEED ME Monster Pillow

24 Nov

FEED ME Monster PillowsHow cute are these!

I needed something to make for the kids on Christmas Eve and came up with these. They’re soft stuffed pillows made from felt. They have a zipper mouth for gobbling up all sorts of things like, reading books, new pajamas, coloring book and crayons, gift cards, stickers…and more!

I had so much fun creating a different Monster for each child.
